![]() ![]() This requires really leaning into the recursive blueprints chest and scanner. TODO: make space rail corresponding blueprint. Instead of water and oil in the fluid network can house warm and cool thermofluid. I used such a train before the spidertron was introduced. The blueprint should still work in with the Space Exploration mod ostensibly. Should your personal storage run out, you can easily refill it. Basically you just use it as portable transport chest for all the stuff you need while you ride it manually on the newly constructed railway. If you don't have a spidertron yet, you can use a special "railway building train". Then all I have to do is to use my blueprint library and attach the fitting rail pieces to each other and place the initial building train station at the mine I want to connect. My projects turned into 10 resource gathering and factory building and. I added three derivative blueprints to the book. Making malls and getting two sets of power armor (one for bots and the other for exoskeletons) resulted in a huge decrease in time it takes to build a factory, but I cant say the same for building rails. Idea is to go somewhere, place the (e.g.) 'outpost starter' blueprint, which is built from materials in the train and my inventory. It contains a lot of rails, and some chests, inserters, conbots, roboports etc. I clear the area in my combat spidertron (with my exosceleton equipped with lots of laser defense to give additional fire power) first, and once enough area is cleared I get my rail spidertron equipped with several roboports. I gathered the original designs into a single blueprint book. The bootstrap train is the train I use for setting up new outposts or plants. place the rails, then place the buildings relative to the rails. ![]() As a result any blueprint containing rails needs to be built around those rails (i.e. ![]() The other one is combat oriented with shields for protection and has additional ammo and supplies for being able to clear out large areas before being forced to return. Rails exist in a 2x2 grid in Factorio (surely you have noticed that you cant build rails with a 1 tile gaps - its either 2 blocks or 4 blocks or 6 blocks etc). I personally have two spidertrons - one of them is focused for building rail tracks and initial train stations for outposts and is filled with lots of rails, signals, power pylons, and also some cliff explosives and landfill, plus everything needed for a few stations. ![]()
